We saved the very best for last.

As we wrap up our camp updates, we couldn’t end without sharing the most spectacular moment of all: the baptisms of 13 precious girls.

In the weeks leading up to camp, these young hearts took part in a special baptism class—an intentional journey to explore the weight of sin, the beauty of repentance, and the life-giving hope found in Jesus Christ. Through thoughtful teaching and heartfelt discussions, each girl came to her own decision to follow Him and publicly declare her faith.

On the final day of camp, surrounded by their friends, mentors, and peers, these brave girls stepped into the water.  We were honored to provide transportation for family members to witness this powerful moment—mothers, grandmothers, siblings—all there to celebrate what will forever mark a turning point in their lives.

And then something beautiful happened. As the baptisms took place, local community members driving by began to stop. Some pulled over along the road. Others stepped closer, curious and moved by what they were seeing.Through these girls, the Gospel was shared with strangers who had not expected to encounter it that day.

In the final moments of our last day together, we ended camp the same way we began it—with celebration, gratitude, and intentionally pouring into each girl.

We honored our older girls who had worked tirelessly to prepare for and pass a significant academic milestone: an important national school exam in Sierra Leone. To mark this achievement, each of them received a special gift—a watch—symbolizing both the time they’ve invested and the bright future that lies ahead.

Every single girl at camp also received a handmade bag, lovingly crafted and as one-of-a-kind as she is. No two were alike—each bag, just like each girl, was uniquely beautiful both inside and out. 

And finally, we had the privilege of placing a Bible into the hands of every family represented at camp. Inside each one was a handwritten note—prayers and encouragement from people who may never meet them, but care deeply and lifted their names in prayer.

Our hope is that each family will open these pages and discover for themselves the deep, abiding love the Lord has for them.

Thank you for making all of this possible. Because of your support, these girls experienced a week full of joy, growth, and powerful encounters with the love of Jesus. They were poured into, celebrated, and surrounded by people who believe in them.
