Hope Looks Like This πŸ’—

We want to introduce you to a courageous girl we’ll call MassaHer story is one of heartbreak, hopeβ€”and ultimately, healing.

Massa came into our care after enduring unimaginable pain and trauma. Her family, like so many others in rural Sierra Leone, had hoped that sending her to live with a distant relative in a larger city would open doors to better education and opportunity. Instead, it became the beginning of a heartbreaking chapter marked by multiple forms of abuse, neglect, and unmet needs.

When her case was referred to us, we knewΒ immediate action was needed. We welcomed her into our Interim Care Center and quickly began addressing her physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Massa received medical care, nourishing meals, clothing, and a safe place to rest.Β But more than that, she was met with kindness, dignity, and consistent love. We enrolled her in school and provided private tutoring to help her catch up on the learning she had missed. Each day brought small but powerful steps toward healing, and herΒ transformation has been nothing short of remarkable.

While Massa remained in our care, our family tracing team began exploring long-term solutions with the Ministry of Social Welfare and our dedicated caseworkers. Though her family deeply loves her, they expressed concern about the limitations of their rural environmentβ€”particularly regarding Massa’s continued access to education and support. Still, their love and desire to be part of her life never wavered.

Thanks to your support,Β Massa’s family was able to attend our Family Camp this past May.Β They laughed, played, prayed, and created cherished memories together. One of the most unforgettable moments came when Massa boldly stepped into the water to be baptizedβ€”publicly proclaiming her faith in Jesus Christ as her family stood nearby, cheering her on.

Just last week, our team made the 11-hour journeyβ€”through rain, mud, and every imaginable form of transportationβ€”to bring Massa home for a visit.Β The reunion was pure joy.Β Hugs, laughter, and celebration made every step of the journey worth it. While long-term plans are still being prayerfully and carefully finalized,Β Massa’s story reminds us why we do what we do.

And Massa is just one of many.

Our Interim Care Center in Bo Town is a vital part of our missionβ€”but it’s in urgent need of repairs, updates, and expansion to better serve girls like Massa. With just three weeks left in our campaign, we’re halfway to our goal. Would you consider making a gift to help us reach the finish line?

Your generosity makes stories like Massa’s possible. Thank you for being part of the hope and healing God is writing through Princess Promise.
