A Different Kind of Rescue
Before the sun rose over Freetown, Mariama’s day had already begun.
She held her five-month-old son close, helped her 13-year-old daughter, Bintu, get ready for school, and wondered if she’d be able to make it to her university classes that day.
Mariama is completely blind.
She is raising both of her children alone after their father abandoned the family, and every day is a careful balance of faith, determination, and impossible choices. Some days she can’t afford transportation to class. Other days there isn’t enough money for books or even food. Yet she refuses to give up, believing education is the path to a better future for her children.
Before this family reached the breaking point, God opened a door for Princess Promise to help.
The love in this home isn’t missing. The resources are.
Whenever it’s safe and possible, our goal is to strengthen families before crisis forces children from the people who love them most. Through practical support, compassionate case management, and the hope of Christ, we’re able to come alongside families like Mariama’s—helping parents care for their children and giving them hope for the future.
Thank you for making stories like Bintu’s possible. Sometimes rescue looks like bringing a child home. And sometimes, by God’s grace, it means helping make sure she never has to leave.
