Why We Choose Narrow and Deep

Some ministries are called to reach as many people as possible.

Our calling is to know the girls God places in our care and walk alongside them for the long haul.

We know their stories. We know what makes them laugh. We know which girls struggle in school and which ones dream of becoming doctors, teachers, or social workers. We know who still needs extra encouragement and who just lost a family member. We know when a girl is thriving and when something isn't quite right.

That's what we mean when we say we go Narrow and Deep.

From the very beginning, Princess Promise has believed that vulnerable girls deserve more than a meal, a scholarship, or a safe place to stay.

Those things matter, but they are not enough.

Girls who have experienced abuse, neglect, abandonment, exploitation, and trauma need people who will stay. So that's what we do. We stay. And we point them to Jesus every step of the way.

From their first days in our care to graduation day—what a privilege to walk beside them.

Princess, the young girl who inspired our name, is a beautiful example.

When Mike first met Princess in Sierra Leone, she was a little girl living in an orphanage with a dream of becoming a doctor. What began as a simple relationship grew into years of encouragement, educational support, discipleship, and consistent presence.

Today, Princess is studying medicine at the University of Sierra Leone.

Her story reminds us that transformation rarely happens overnight. It happens when people choose to stay, to invest deeply, and to trust God with the years in between.

That's the heart of Princess Promise.
